Leo to Virgo Transition

As a Virgo♍︎ Sun (my birthday is Sep 4), I feel like I am constantly working to help people reframe their perception of Virgo energy. We get such a bad rap! And look, I get it. Growing up I was often called a b*tch, being told I was rude, getting into arguments with people because I would share my unasked for opinion to point out something they were doing that was “wrong.”

After many many years of feeling pissed off and misunderstood, I came to realize that Virgo energy is here to discern how things could be improved in the name of SERVICE and HEALING. And so I say this with so much love and experience: Unless someone asks, Virgo, best to just keep it to yourself.

But this transition from Leo♌︎ to Virgo season can feel a bit like a deflation, like a loss of our firepower. In the Northern Hemisphere, the sun is starting to set a bit earlier, the air is starting to crisp… the seasons are changing and there is a tangible ~turning dooOOown of the energetic volume.

Virgo season is here to bring us out of the sky and onto the ground, so that we can make our dreams into a *literal* reality (like, literal, literal. Virgo is an Earth sign and makes things REAL), by providing us with—

1. discernment: is this really what you want?? one thing about being human is… we are working some finite resources. we need to be very confident we’re working towards something we *actually* want, or else we’re just spinning our wheels.

2. routines and structures, to enact the vision: what is the lit-er-al game plan here? no judgement but— what feelings need attention? what behaviors need adjusting? how can we give ourselves more of what need?

3. health awareness, to inform the routines, structures, rituals: are you getting enough sleep? are you feeding yourself well? what emotional, spiritual, mental blocks are you experiencing and how can we resolve?

4. self love, for sustainability and outreach: this is a BIG one. this is the underlying motivation for Virgo: we are here to serve. and we are motivated to serve because we love you. we love the world! we love ourselves! and we just want things for *everyone* to be better. there is definitely an air of selflessness to Virgo that is a lovely counterbalance to the intensely-selfish vibes of Leo season. We are here to serve You. Virgo reminds us that we are all here to serve one another, and isn’t that a beautiful thing?

At the core core core core core CORE, Virgo is here to help us heal. The only sign in the Zodiac represented by a human instead of an animal, Virgos are here to help the ~totality of our humanness~ heal. Our body, mind, spirit, soul.. everything together, in harmony.

Pisces♓︎ (Virgo sister sign) is here to help us heal on a planetary level. Virgo is here to help us heal on an individual level.

And while the ultimate goal of Virgo is perfection, we also recognize that Perfection in one lifetime is literally Jesus-level lol. Buddha-level. Ascended masters level. Perfection is the goal of many lifetimes, okay, not just one. So maybe don’t put that kind of pressure on yourself rn.

But evolution?? OOOh baby, evolution is something we can absolutely thrive for right here, right now.

or.. not.

Evolution is a natural order of things, as is entropy. And so we get to choose! Are we going to aim to evolve or are we going to check out and see what happens? No judgment either way. Honestly.

For most of my life, I was doing the entropy thing… just letting shit happen.. and kind of trying.. but not really knowing what to do. Just kind of floundering and making bad choices and doing the best I can while also, at times, hating myself lol. Knowing some things were *wrong* but just not really having the capacity to get out of it. Stuck in a cycle, you might say.

though I was having lots of fun and I was very beautiful. things were definitely not all bad.

And then… some things happened. And I finally started to evolve. Instead of going in circles and repeating the same cycles over and over and over, I started to step one foot out of the circle. Two steps out of the circle. Three, four. Wow, progress.

And sometimes I would end up back in the circle. And that was (though it didn’t seem like it at the time..) totally fine, too. Baby baby baby steps.

Because eventually, I made enough steps out of the circle that it started to look more like a spiral.

I found breathwork. I found marriage (though that was not something I ever wanted, lol). I stopped abusing alcohol. I was less angry. Less depressed. Less reactive. Less… lost.

I found peace. For the first time in probably my entire life, I finally started to feel some freaking peace and acceptance for who and how I was.

And that is the medicine of Virgo. We can all evolve. We can all evolve, together. In fact, on a macro level, we need as many people as possible to evolve, so that we can make this world a — literally — better place. And so that’s what I’m here to try and do. That’s what I’m here to do.

The best part? This relationship I’m creating with myself (remember, Virgo is about healing on the individual level.. you to you) is deepening and getting better.

I still have a loooong ways to go, 1000%, but I am also happier than I have maybe ever been in my entire life because I finallllyyy succummed (succame ??) to my own Virgo freaking medicine. And that, to me, is worth sharing and celebrating and spreading the gospel about.

Thank you, Leo♌︎ season, for helping us remember who we really are. Thank you for the fun in the Sun. For the creativity and play. For helping us shine and be seen and be courageous about our truths. I loved getting to ___ [go to the beach, read books at the park, make great art.. you fill in the blank] and I appreciate the energy you brought into the world.

And Dear Virgo season, I’m so ___ [excited, anxious, indifferent, etc] about working with you. I know you’re here to

• reconnect me with Mother Earth

• show me some things that need readjustment

• connect me to my body, so I can feel all its kinks

and I trust that this medicine will do it’s work.

I trust that I will have the support I need.

I trust that whatever is meant for me is on it’s way.
