This is transcribed and pared down from my first YT video for the new Moon in Cancer!
Hello and welcome to "Eliza Gets Into It!" Today is July 5. We're going to talk about the new Moon in Cancer and do a little bit of tarot to see what medicine we might need during this new Moon.
Let's look at the chart.
This is happening with the Sun and the Moon together in Cancer at 14 degrees. The Moon joins the Sun today at 6:57 PM EST. What I love about new Moons is that they offer an opportunity to reflect on the life we truly want, to come into our heart space and envision what we truly desire.
When you ask yourself what you truly desire, some things might come up that you judge. Maybe the first thing that comes to mind is a new bag, and you think, "Whoa, that's not spiritual or evolved. We should desire world peace." But remember, there's nothing wrong with wanting beautiful, well-made things that enrich your 3D experience. We are souls having a human journey, and if buying new shoes satisfies you, go for it. Just understand that your life will never be satisfying if it is only about you and in pursuit of material things. There has to be something greater that supports the inner workings of your soul.
So, we have the Sun and Moon together in Cancer, a sign of emotion, feeling, and often motherhood, this conjunction happens next to Venus at 22 degrees. Venus is a significant symbol of the heart. Spend time understanding your true heart's desires and what it means to feel at home within yourself. Identify what adjustments are needed in your life to make your actual home comforting and enlivening.
There are interesting celestial relationships to discuss, but I'll focus on Saturn. Saturn often represents father energy. Saturn is sitting at 19 degrees Pisces. Cancer and Pisces, both water signs, create a supportive relationship for the Sun, Moon, and Saturn. Saturn is associated with structure, rigidity, rules, and regulations. This new Moon carries an energy of parenting. It could be about healing your relationship to your actual mom and dad or an invitation to reflect on self-parenting. Are you providing yourself with both the maternal nurturance essential for human development and the mindful structures and routines needed to achieve your dreams?
With those energetic themes of parenthood, dreaming, and living a resonant life, let's turn to the Tarot to see if there's additional medicine. I've pulled three little seashells because this is such a watery new Moon. I have a sparkly rock from the beach, a swirly shell, and a black and white shell. I'll pull a card for each of these symbols.

Close your eyes, put your hand on your heart, and think about which artifact holds the medicine for you. Do you want the sparkly beach rock, the swirly Spanish shell, or the black and white patterned shell?
If you're feeling into the sparkly beach rock, let's turn to the cards now.
The card for you is the Eight of Cups.
This card is very Cancerian energy, as cups represent emotion. This person is envisioning a life they truly desire, using the cups as a source of energy. Cups are a sign of emotion, so use that emotional resonance to fuel taking action towards what you want. Mushrooms on the card signify regeneration, using what has died off to feed what is still alive. If there are things ready to be let go, know that nothing is truly lost. Letting go is key to having what you want. If there are nerves or disbelief, engage in somatic practices like box breathing to regulate your nervous system. Use the emotions to fuel you and don't be afraid to release what needs to be released. The number eight is an infinity symbol, reminding you of the infinite support available.
If you chose the swirly Spanish shell, your card is the Nine of Wands.
This card represents a new version of yourself. Wands are a sign of fire, inspiration, motivation, and action. This card resonates with the Saturn energy, emphasizing structure. The wands form a teepee shape, providing structure that allows this person to feel safe enough to let go of old versions of themselves. This is about a system upgrade. If resistance to new structures is holding you back, challenge those limiting beliefs. Do one thing per day outside of your habits that brings you closer to your inspiration. It could be creating art, sending a cold email, or moving your body. Follow your inspiration to embody this system upgrade.
Finally, if you chose the black and white shell, your card is the Six of Cups.
Cups represent emotion, and the six is a number of community and sharing. This card encourages connecting with your inner child and finding freedom in expressing your emotions. Surround yourself with people and spaces where you can embody this energy. This new Moon, with its heart-centered and emotion-centered focus, invites you to get curious about what your inner child wants to express. Engage in play, connect with your inner child, and offer a listening ear to others. Honoring your emotions doesn't have to be a long process. Use breathwork to quickly shift into joy and bliss. Resistance to feeling emotions keeps them stuck and heavy.
I'm so happy if you watched and got something out of this video. I'll continue posting and experimenting. This is my favorite deck, True Heart Intuitive Tarot Deck by Rachel True. Happy New Moon!
