Transitioning from Libra to Scorpio season GOT ME. I was laid off from my marketing job three days before I left for a three week trip in Europe. I was in deep disagreement with my husband about my choice to add a six-week stay in Vietnam to my itinerary after England. There was the US election and I was dealing with my Republican relations. Life was lifeing and it was a lot *melt emoji*. So I appreciate your grace that I haven’t (yet? yet.) published the Libra → Scorpio guide. BUT I’m here now and I’m excited to talk Scorpio to Sag!
Scorpio season is a time of deep introspection. As a fixed Water sign, Scorpio is the depths of the ocean where the water is deep, dark, full of the sea monsters. During this season of the witch, it’s a powerful time to reflect on our inner shadows and hidden depths. What monstrous patterns are deeply engrained in our own psyches?
For me, I became aware of an undercurrent of people pleasing during Scorpio season. I perceive myself as someone who is confident speaking her mind, who doesn’t back down from an uncomfortable conversation, who is prepared to protect her peace even when it means disappointing others. AND I was shocked to learn that there are still some twinges of people-pleasing behavior that eek out when I’m feeling insecure, stemming from a fear of rejection. It was wild to watch those patterns emerge, but that’s part of the medicine of Scorpio: identifying deep rooted patterns that we might not notice during the brighter, sunnier astrological seasons.
There’s also an undercurrent of sensuality that comes to the forefront during Scorpio season and I’m here for it. Sensual energy and Creation energy are, in my experience, one and the same. It’s that confidence that says, When I feel good, I can do/have/make anything I want and I’m not ashamed to own my power.

It’s important to cultivate this inner sensuality in safe spaces, so that we can leverage it when insecurity start to creep in during Creative projects. When doubt begins to voice its fears, are you prepared to whip out your cat-o-nine-tails like, HELLO, do you know who I am??! Begone.
Scorpio season is here to remind us that owning our kinks and quirks, shame-free, is the power that fuels the confidence necessary to endure Creative work. Mull it over. Say it aloud: Owning my kinks shame-free gives me power and fuels my confidence, so that I can fulfill my Creative purpose. Put it on a sticky note in your bedroom and remember that your Freak Flag is beautiful, important, necessary.
Ruled by Mars in Traditional astrology and by Pluto in Modern astrology, Scorpio’s power is one of quiet confrontation and transformation. Who are you when you reveal your underbelly to trusted confidantes? Not everyone gets to see your goodies, but it’s important to find community and resist the urge to sit alone in your shame. When shame is safely shared, it’s able to be resolved. When shame is resolved, oooOO that’s some fertile transformation.
When I was a freshmen in college, I was at a party during spring break. We were drunk, taking pictures in the bathroom as college girls do and I picked up a pair of sunglasses from the counter. I was posing in the glasses for our photos and then walked out of the bathroom, into the party still wearing them. A few minutes later, the party host and her boyfriend came up to me and asked if those were her glasses. I panicked. I lied. I said they were mine and doubled down because I didn’t know how to admit the truth. My bestie got involved, defending me (she hadn’t been in the bathroom with the rest of us), and eventually we were kicked out of the party.
We saw the party hosts the next day at the beach and they confronted me again. I tried lying again, but they wouldn’t let it go and we were starting to gather a crowd. Eventually I buckled. I said the glasses were mine but the party host could just have them because I didn’t want to fight anymore. I felt awful, drunk and crying on the beach because I was embarrassed and ashamed. I stuck with the lie though, unsure how to be honest after all of that. I left the beach and didn’t talk about the glasses for the rest of the trip. It kept me up at night though. For YEARS, I would be slipping into sleep and be jolted awake by a rush of shame that I lied about the glasses. They weren’t even nice! They were cheap gold aviators! But my god, the shame ate me inside out.
Finally one random day I said, enough is enough. I called my bestie and immediately said, “You know I lied about those glasses, right?” She was like, “Whaaat are you talking about???” and I rehashed the whole tale. I remember my friend very kindly accepting my honest and reassuring me that if that was the worst thing I had done, I was fine. I remember feeling SO RELIEVED that I had finally been honest and shared what felt like my deepest shame. This, too, is Scorpio’s invitation: to reveal our shame in safe spaces, so that it can be resolved.
Sometimes those honest conversations are tough to come by. Most Scorpios prefer privacy; some will say they don’t even want to be perceived lol. But it’s important to distinguish between isolation and privacy. Humans are communal beings; we are meant to share the worst of ourselves with trusted confidantes, so that we can love each other through the pain of revelation and get some perspective — like my sweet friend was able to offer me.
During Scorpio season, it might feel like you’re all alone in the dark. If that’s you, check in with yourself. Is this an isolation of your own making? Are there people who could be trusted with your underbelly? And, are you willing to be a loving witness to theirs? Trust, Scorpio reminds us, is a two-way street.
Let’s lighten things up, shall we??
As a Cancer Moon and Sag Rising, the transition into any Fire sign always invigorates me. One of the reasons I love astrology so deeply is because it reinforces that ~for every time there is a season.
In the Zodiac, a season of Water always precedes a season of Fire: Pisces before Aries, Cancer before Leo, Scorpio before Sagittarius. Because emotional exploration, excavation, and regulation (Water), is a prerequisite to inspiration and aligned action (Fire). See the chart below — make sure to read counter-clockwise! — for some Scorpio to Sag themes.
As we navigate from Scorpio season into Sagittarius season, we are being invited to celebrate the deep work we’ve done over the past month. The beautiful think about astrology seasons is that they only last a few weeks. So even though Scorpio is a time of emotional exploration, we’re not stuck in the emotional depths forever. We don’t drown. We dive deep, we tread water, we swim to the island and back, and then we celebrate because the emotional workout is complete and now it’s time to f*cking GOOOOOOO.
Sagittarius season, our mutable Fire sign symbolized by the arrow and ruled by zaddy Jupiter, ushers in a time of adventure, optimism, teaching, learning, bluntness, and humor. The Sagittarians in your life are likely famous for their silly sense of humor, their willingness to try new things, and their desire to teach and learn more more of their interests. Sags make some of the best friends, imho, because they (we 😏) are just so damn fun to be around. Sags are here to remind us that we do the hard work in Scorpio season so that we can go out ENJOY life as the full expression, both dark and light, of ourselves.
In Sag season, with all the holiday parties and (hopefully) time off work, you might tip into overindulgence. Balance, while not Sag’s strong suit, is important here. The bonfire of Sag season — our last Fire sign in the zodiac! — burns hot hot hot, so be mindful not to burn yourself out on events, socializing, etc. Which family, friend, work invitations actually light you up vs the ones you might force yourself to attend out of ~~obligation?
If you want to say no, do it. Sagittarians are famously blunt, so if you notice some people-pleasing tendencies creeping up, as I did during Scorpio season, channel your best Sag and be honest about your social capacity. The ones who are meant to stick around will understand.
Phewph! We did it! Back on the proverbial horse. In case you’re wondering, I’m genuinely thriving after my layoff. This is exactly what needed to happen in order to push me to pursue Eliza Gets Intuit full time. I’m working from Saigon and wrote this post from my brand new creative studio !! I also had my first paying client (since taking EGI full time) today. Things are FLOWING in the best way and I am better than okay. I hope you’re better than okay, too, but if you’re not… know that I love you and that I’m here if you’d like some support in astrology, tarot, and breathwork. I even made a shiny new Deep Work sales page, wooOooo!! And if you’re reading this before Dec 18, I’m running some Saigon Specials and you can find the pricing on my newwww scheduling page.
Thanks for your support sharing, commenting, engaging with my work. As a new business boss person, it means everything to me. muah muah muah.
